The studio

DraigNET Studios

A UK independent studio making games since 2010 — built to be played, not just launched.

DraigNET grew out of making small RPGs with tools like RPG Maker and PlayerWorlds, and frameworks such as Mirage Source. Founded in 2010, its early focus was game development utilities rather than games — most notably the original MirageMUD engine — and game development followed from there.

That lineage carries forward most directly into Nightmist Legacy, a multiplayer MUD built on the studio's current engine, the Mistfall Engine, entering Open Beta on 25 August 2026 — its own site is at nightmistlegacy.com. But it's one project among several, not the studio's whole story: the studio also runs County Lines Roleplay, a GTA: San Andreas multiplayer roleplay server, and is building a free arcade of smaller single-player browser games alongside both — different genres, no shared engine, just games built to be fun. All of it lives on the games hub.

The philosophy

Fun first, everything else second

Every project — whether it's a persistent multiplayer world or a five-minute arcade game — starts from the same place: is this actually enjoyable to play? Systems, art, and tooling only exist to serve that.

That means different games can look nothing alike under the hood. Nightmist Legacy needed a custom engine built specifically for a persistent multiplayer world; a five-minute single-player game doesn't, and doesn't get one. The only constant across all of it is whether it's worth coming back to play.

What guides the work

Studio DNA

I

Engaging and accessible

A game should be easy to reach and hard to exhaust. Keeping the barrier to entry low handles the first part; systems with real depth handle the second.

II

Replayable by design

A loop worth repeating beats a one-time set piece every time. Games are built around what makes someone come back, not just what makes a good first five minutes.

III

Honest communication

No inflated announcements. When a date is given it is because the work supports it, and quiet stretches mean work rather than trouble.
